I
taught this lesson on 21st of
October, 2019. It was for class five mathematics on the topic of choosing a
Graph. The main objectives of the lesson were to collect the data and to show
the information in the form of a picture graph and bar graph. They were three
activities included in the plan. In the first activity, I have shown them how
to draw graphs using shapes which means inserting shapes and in the second
activity, they were asked to collect the information on favorite fruits,
favorite vegetables, number of sisters and number of children from four
different Chiwogs in group wise.
They were asked to work in groups to draw the
graphs using shapes. In the third activity, a pop corn choice was given to a
group and a volunteer group presented their work to the whole class using
projector.
What did I learn from the lesson?
It
was an informative learning experience for me. If provided the platform for
children with proper guidance and instructions, they were able to learn and
present to the class. The time allocated for each activity was sufficient but
for the last activity, the volunteer group only was able to present and rest
groups are struggling to finish their work however, I have seen lots of
positive vibes in them. Others were asked to present it in the next class.

The
lesson was fruitful as it was audible and explained in simple language and
moreover, they didn’t face any difficulty as it was the continuation of the
previous topic on the pictograph. Providing the platform for the students to
draw the graphs in the desktop as a part of an activity is more enjoyable which
in turn helps the children to get engage meaningfully without diverting their
attention and henceforth I have to select the interesting lesson by adapting to
the new strategy in teaching and learning and moreover enough practice should
be given especially in dividing the intervals, inserting the shapes accurately.

While going through your post it was found that you have done well integration of ICT for your learners and found that children were very interactive and come up with better understanding of the concept taught through exploration of ICT which clearly indicates that integration of ICT has great impact for learners.Keep it up and keep exploring more idaes in future too.
ReplyDeleteUse of ICT in this topic is interesting and children learn the best.it is a life skill indeed
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments...Anticipating for more comments from other friends as well la...
ReplyDeleteGood use of ICT in your lesson. You have also used available facilities that you have in your school. Learning by doing is one way of motivating our children in learning. So keep on practising.
ReplyDeleteIt must be their first time to draw the graph using ICT. How excited they would be and they would have loved to do it again and again if given more opportunities. Keep using it la.
ReplyDeleteThe way you used ICT in your lesson incredible and I fully hope that your children have learnt a lot. With this knowledge your children will be able to put in practice of ICT applications in other subject area as well. Well done!!!

"I have to select the interesting lesson by adapting to the new strategy in teaching and learning and moreover enough practice should be given especially in dividing the intervals, inserting the shapes accurately". It's true sir because if it's not at all applicable o use ICT tools then we can do so, I think but not sure. Hope friends might suggest us.
ReplyDeleteLesson was lively. Teaching looks wonderful. You have kept your students busy and much interested in learning. Really great of you sir.
Keep the same spirit alive always...

ReplyDeleteMathematics lesson and ICT benefits a lot. Hand on practice makes children learn better, children are learning by doing in the field. So always create space for children to practice and I hope your lesson have really motivated them. Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful experinces for me to go through your post. It was really an informative learning experience for me.I want to learn more on how mathematics are taught. I have never taught mathematics since I gratiduated from paro college of education. Yes, as stated, if provided the platform for children with proper guidance and instructions, they perform very well. Keep integrating it.
ReplyDeleteWhile going through your post it was found that you and your students have done well in ICT inregreted mathematics lesson. I could see that you had a very interactive and better understanding of the concept taught through exploration of ICT.Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteInteresting lesson where making children learn themselves doing practically.
